The latest available version of Book Structure Viewer is Version 9.0.3. If you are running an earlier version, please upgrade it. If you are a DITA user, to get "future-proofed" support for new DTDs you must use Version 9.0.0 or later. To upgrade, follow these instructions.

Upgrade instructions

To upgrade:

  1. Shut down BSV.
  2. Uninstall your current version of BSV. To do this, go to Control Panel --> Add or Remove programs --> Book Structure Viewer.
  3. Click on this "Download Book Structure Viewer Version 9" link.
  4. In the dialog box that appears, choose "Save". (Alternatively, you can right-click on the link and choose "Save target as..." from the pop-up menu.) Download Book Structure Viewer.msi and save it in a temporary directory (e.g. c:\temp).
  5. Double-click on the Book Structure Viewer.msi installation program that you've just downloaded.
  6. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Notes:

  1. If you get a "Version conflict" message, saying that one of the files being installed is an older version of a file already on your system, answer "Yes" to keep the newer version.
  2. If you get an "Error 1931" message about a failure to update a Windows component (probably VBScript.exe or scrrun.dll), just click OK. It simply means that you already have the component installed.
