  • Who are Trelawny's Army?

Trelawny's Army is the Cornish Rugby Supporters' Club. Its aim is to support Cornish County and Club rugby teams at all levels. The 'Army' was founded in 1993, during the eight "Glory Years" in which Cornwall appeared in seven County Championship semi-finals, three Twickenham finals, and won the championship once.

More recently, the County team has had a few more "glory years", being semi-finalists in 1998, 1999, 2000, 2002, and 2003, losing finalists in 1998, and champions in 1999.

With the advent of professional rugby, County rugby has inevitably lost some of its former allure. However, after many years in the doldrums Cornish club rugby has recently gone from strength to strength. These are exciting times for Cornish rugby supporters. The emergence of professional sides like the Cornish Pirates has raised the bar and shown other clubs what can be achieved.

Reflecting these changes, TASC aims to support not only the senior county side, and the Under-20 and Colts sides, but also Cornish club sides at all levels. (Indeed, one of the Army's most useful functions is to supply exiles with a list of when Cornish clubs are playing across the border in England.)

    Join the Army!

Right, milad (or m'lady), let's be 'aving you! Get your marching boots on and sign up! If you're "local", you can benefit from the social events and reduced travel costs to away matches. If you're an exile, it's a great way to keep in touch with rugby "down 'ome".

    How much does it cost?

Not much! Membership is only £5 a year (less for kids, families, and OAPs -- see table below). For that you get a quarterly magazine, cheap travel, advance notice of important matches, the opportunity to buy Cornish supporters' gear that is exclusive to members and tickets for County matches from TASC's allocation, and a lot more besides.

    Fees:

    Type Fee
    Single Adult £5.00
    Adult Couple £8.00
    Single OAP £4.00
    OAP Couple £6.00
    Under 16s £3.00
